FC Halifax Town will make the trip to Grimsby Town tomorrow in our first match of 2022, 3pm kick-off in front of the BT Sport cameras.
The Shaymen go into the game in 2nd place after 20 games in the Vanarama National League and 3 points behind leaders Chesterfield. Town drew 1-1 with the Spireites last Tuesday in the festive game at the Technique Stadium.
Town are now unbeaten in their last four league games with wins over Torquay United, Wealdstone and King’s Lynn and the draw against Chesterfield. It’s just one loss in the last 8 league games now too and have scored in the last six league games in a row.
Grimsby started the league well with five wins and a draw in their opening six games but they have now gone on a run of six defeats and a win in their last seven games which has seen them slip to 10th in the table. Their only win in that run was a 1-0 home win over Southend United at Blundell Park thanks to an early goal from Ryan Taylor.
They have not played in the league since the 11th December due to Covid within their squad, their only game since then was a 4-0 FA Trophy defeat at Stockport County.
Their top goalscorer is John McAtee but he will miss the match due to suspension and Lenell John-Lewis will also miss out.
