FC Halifax Town suffered defeat to Wrexham last night at the Shay Stadium – Jordan Slew spoke to Shaymen TV after the match.

It was a frustrating loss for Town after going a goal to the good through Slew’s calm finish. However, it was a double for Wrexham in the last ten minutes that cliched the Red Dragons a victory.

The game finished and striker Slew went back into the dressing room, freshened up, and returned to give his thoughts; “I’m disappointed, it was scrappy to lose in the way we did,” he began by saying. “I don’t know what to say, because I’m deflated – to go eight unbeaten at the Shay we felt like we should’ve won. To go from winning to drawing to losing, it’s one of those and we need to pick ourselves up and go again.”

The 90 minutes may have ended a way the Shaymen did not want, but Jordan got his fifth league goal of the season. A positive for Slew as the fans erupted into their usual “Sleeeeeeew” when the ball hit the net.

“It’s bitter-sweet to score,” summed up by Jordan. “The important thing is winning – not about me. But, as said again, we pick ourselves up and go again Saturday.”

It was an attendance of over three-thousand at the Shay, with an electric atmosphere from both fans – something Slew picked up on. “The Halifax fans are always good, they come out in their numbers, and same with Wrexham’s to be honest,” said the striker. Before adding on the teams; “I thought it was a good game that we should’ve won, but they’re a good team and they’ll be up there this season.”

Slew ended the interview with a clear statement on how the Shaymen bounce back; “On Saturday, we win,” Jordan concisely stated. “Promotion is the end result for this club so every game we just have to win.”

Jordan finished the post-match feature perfectly with a on-point quote, and Town will look ahead to Saturday with the visit to Torquay United.
