FC Halifax Town stormed to a 7-4 victory against Maidenhead United in the Emirates FA Cup yesterday. Striker Billy Waters as the goals keep coming.

Waters was firstly quizzed on whether he’d ever been victorious with a result of 7-4 before; “No that’s never happened, it was a mad game,” he said. “It was great for the fans, and these FA Cup games can sometimes be like that.”

He added on the match; “We’ve been defending well recently, so we’re disappointed to have conceded four. But, the main thing is that we’re into the hat for the next round, and we scored seven goals while playing exciting football – it’s bittersweet.”

As mentioned, two of those seven goals were scored by Billy, as he popped up with the fourth and sixth goals in the match. “I’ve not scored in a few games, so it’s always good to get on the sheet,” Waters spoke upon his goals. “When you go a few games without scoring you feel like I need one, I need one! So, to get a brace is brilliant.”

Attention turned to Monday night’s Emirates FA Cup draw, with Billy sharing who he wanted in the next round. “I would’ve said Sunderland, but they lost today,” the striker admitted. “To be honest, I’d rather have a smaller team in the second round – with more chance of making it to the Third Round.”
