FC Halifax Town earnt a point away at Bromley with a 0-0 draw this afternoon at Hayes Lane.

It was a second 0-0 draw in the last three away leagues games and makes it just one defeat in the last 10 games.

However, Bromley top goalscorer Michael Cheek had the perfect opportunity to get all three points for the home side from the penalty spot in the second half, however despite scoring 3 penalties this season, he was denied a fourth with his effort striking the post.

The Lilywhites had the first effort of the game but Jude Arthurs strike from the edge of the box was never troubling Sam Johnson and went well over the bar.

Jack Seniorโ€™s cross deflected out for the first corner of the game on 5 minutes, but Matty Warburtonโ€™s corner was headed clear.

Town had a great chance just two minutes later, Kian Spenceโ€™s floated ball into the box was met by the head of on loan striker Jack Vale but his header was over the bar before Bromley had an effort from Harry Forster his shot was blocked for a corner which Sam Johnson was able to claim.

Warburton had a curling shot from outside the box, but it wasnโ€™t troubling Mark Cousins before another effort from Forster whose shot was deflected again for a corner and Johnson punched the ball clear from the resulting set piece.

The bar came to the home sideโ€™s rescue on 24 minutes, Warburton with the shot from a very tight angle and it grazed the top of the bar before going out for a throw on the far side.

Sam Johnson had to be at his best to pull off an incredible save to tip a shot wide from Luke Coulson that looked destined for the top corner on 38 minutes.

Jamie Allen looked to find his first goal of the season with an effort at goal which was cleared by Sowunmi before he had to be replaced by Jordan Slew due to injury just before the half time break.

Slew had an effort on 51 minutes getting a shot from inside the box, but it was well over the bar as Town looked to find a first goal on the road in three games.

A foul by Slew on Michael Cheek gave the home side a freekick 30 yards from goal but the wall did itโ€™s best to block the effort at goal.

Bromley were awarded a penalty by referee Matthew Russell on 70 minutes for a Jack Senior handball in the box, Michael Cheekโ€™s effort hit the post with the game remaining 0-0.

Substitute Elliot Newby had a shot from the edge of the box, but Cousins was able to get down well to save.

With just under 15 minutes later, Slew cut inside on the left-hand side, but his shot rolled harmlessly wide.

Both sides had opportunities, but it finished 0-0 which sees the Shaymen stay in 4thย place in the Vanarama National League and Bromley remain three points behind Town.

The Shaymen will now have a break from league action next weekend as Town will face Maidenhead United in the Emirates FA Cup 1stย Round on Saturday at the Shay, 3pm kick-off.
