Kieran Green showcased a marvellous performance yesterday evening, as he helped the Shaymen in the centre of the park before slotting in as a centre back in the 3-2 win over Notts County.ย

The match at the Shay Stadium was one of the most dramatic games to have been witnessed in a long time, with County taking a 2-0 lead before Townโ€™s Tom Bradbury was shown a red card. However, even with ten men, FC Halifax Town still pushed on and won the match via Jordan Slew, Matty Warburton and Billy Watersโ€™ goals.

When Halifax went down to ten men, Green slotted in at centre back which he spoke to Shaymen TV about; โ€œSometimes youโ€™ve just got to do your part and I tried my best there,โ€ Green said to sum up his move to centre back. Before adding on his two pivotal tackles to keep Town in the game; โ€œI wonโ€™t talk it down, but I was just in the right place at the right time, and Iโ€™m happy to have made the challenges for myself, the team, and the fans.โ€

Kieran later moved on to give his thoughts on the match as a whole; โ€œThere were plenty of ups and downs in the game, but ultimately we came out on top,โ€ he said. โ€œGames like these donโ€™t come around very often, so weโ€™ve just got to enjoy it whilst itโ€™s here.โ€

The midfielder later went on to say how he felt when the side was 2-0 down with a man less on the pitch; โ€œI actually felt confident because thatโ€™s the group we have โ€“ everyone plays for each other. Itโ€™s a credit to all the boys and a credit to all the staff for the environment theyโ€™ve created,โ€ Kieran summarised. โ€œWe knew we would get chances, and that we were always in the game, but youโ€™ve just got to put your chances away, and thatโ€™s what we did.โ€
