Following FC Halifax Town’s sensational 3-2 win over Notts County, manager Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“We’ve dominated the match from start to finish,” Wild said. “I think we’ve dominated the football, we moved from side to side really well. We had a plan tonight and both in and out of possession we instigated that plan really well. We got done tonight off a mistake from Sam and a set-piece as well. That was frustrating as they are things we can control. All in all, a draw would probably have been a fair result but to win it at the end is outstanding.”

Jordan Slew netted the first goal for the Shaymen to start the comeback before forward Billy Waters pulled Town level.

“It was a great finish,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “We were just about to bring him off as well. It was a great strike, out of nothing really. That goal really gave us the impetus for the last ten which ended up as 20 minutes by the end of the game. Another great finish from Billy, but a lot of credit has to go to Elliot tonight as he set up two of the goals. All of the subs have made a real impact when they went on tonight.”

Matty Warburton completed the scoring to put the Shaymen in the lead when he scored in the tenth minute of added time.

“When you see ten you think you’ll settle for a point,” Wild joked. “To go and win it with the last kick of the game is the stuff dreams are made of. It only happens once every four years it seems. We are all over the moon. The lads deserve it, the dressing room is bouncing and to have 20 points after 10 games is brilliant. That tonight just shows the desire and passion these lads have, they are never beat and the team spirit we have here, wow!”

Town host Weymouth this coming Saturday and will be hoping for even more goals to add to the tally.

“That sets us up nicely,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “We have got to crack on now. We can’t be great on a Tuesday night and then a bag of rubbish on the Saturday. I’d like to thank the fans again tonight. Even when we were 2-0 down, they were firing us on and pushing us on which was great to see. It really gives us a platform to build on and the bond we have got with the fans is incredible.”
