FC Halifax Town moved up to 5th in the Vanarama National last night with a 2-1 away victory to fellow play-off chasers Chesterfield FC at the Technique Stadium.
Goals from Jeff King and Jake Hyde helped the Shaymen to victory and extends the points difference over the Spireites to 4 points who sit 8th.
Town boss Pete Wild told Shaymen TV, โI though first-half we were excellent. I have watched teams go up against them and they want to play through you centrally. I did not want us to do that, we let them have the first pass and then tried to pick them off from there and it worked a treat first-half. Our game plan worked.โ
Captain Nathan Clarke came back into the side along with Kieran Green and Wild was delighted with their performances.
โNathan was outstanding, I am really pleased. Both him and Kieran came back in and a gameโs rest looks to have done them both wellโ.
Jack Earing is set to be out for 7-10 days with a hamstring injury.
“It’s a tweak of the hamstring,” Wild said. “We’re confident he’s alright, but the physio wants to treat is as though it’s a grade one hamstring just in case because the last thing we want is to lose him for the run-in.”
Town now have four games in a short space of time with three home games and a Bank Holiday Monday game away at Yeovil.
โI spoke to the players on Monday, come 4-45pm on Saturday we will know where we are at. There is a lot of football to be played, we must keep ticking the games off. A lot of home games which is pleasingโ.
