Wrexhamโ€™s early start helped them gain a 4-0 victory on an in-form Halifax. A first half hat trick from Jordan Davies helped the welsh side to a comfortable away victory.

Wrexham started the game strongly with a goal after just four minutes.ย  A corner was swung in from the left and Jordan Daviesโ€™ flicked on shot found its way into the bottom right hand corner.

The Shaymen began to get back into the game with good spells of possession but little errors crept in, as Angus had a massive opportunity to double the Red Dragons lead but a good save from Johnson helped the Shaymen only be the goal behind.

A possible penalty shout for the home side came soon after, as Jack Earing went down in the box but the referee waved play on.

However, just after the twenty minutes mark former Shaymen Gold Omatayo flicked on a cross to the feet of Angus in which he evaded the offside trap to slot it home to put Wrexham two nil up.

Halifax looked to change formation after the second goal went in which saw them slip into a 4-2-3-1.

Five minutes later Jordan Davies had his second goal of the match as Clarke lost possession whilst playing out from the back.ย  This left Jordan one on one with Sam in which he took it round him and cooly slotted it home.

More misery continued for Halifax as Davies hit a wonder strike on the edge of the box to complete his Hat trick. The ball fell kindly for him on the edge of the box and the strike flew in the top left corner.

Town had a series of corners late on but couldnโ€™t bring anything to it and it saw the home side trail 4-0 at Half Time.

After the break Pete Wild decided to make a tactical substitution taking Tom Bradbury off and bringing on Martin Woods.

Halifax needed to start strongly in the second half and they did with two shots early on. Jack Earing looked to have given the home side a goal back with his shot rattling the cross bar and appearing to pass over the line but the goal was not given.

Soon after, Maher appeared to lose his footing and brought down Wrexham striker Angus. This saw him be the first player into the book for the foul. This launched another chance for Wrexham with Youngsโ€™ free kick working Johnson as he pushed it out for a corner.

Jake Hyde was subbed off in the sixty fourth minute and Billy Chadwick made his way on the pitch for the first time since the Sutton draw.

The ball was in the Wrexham net as Niall Maher headed home Martin Woodsโ€™ cross however,ย  the linesman flag was up for offside.

More shots from Woods and Earing came in the 70th with Martinโ€™s shot skimming the cross bar to deny the home side once again.

Kieran Green came on soon after for Jack Earing whoโ€™d been the bright light in the Shaymen side tonight.

Soon after coming on Green hit the bar once again with a header from a Luke Summerfield crossed free kick.

Green was in the book soon after for a strong challenge on Carrington. Chris Sang also received a yellow for a hard challenge on Niall Maher.

The home side continued to attack late on but they struggled to find space with a resolute and strong Wrexham defence.

Halifax slip one place behind Wrexham now however remain on the same points as the away side.

The Shaymen look to bounce back once again at home live on BT Sport against Kings Lynn at 12:15pm.
