Second half goals from Jake Hyde and Jack Earing helped FC Halifax Town to overturn a half time deficit and return from North West London with a 2 -1 victory.ย  The win was a just reward for a dominant display in which Sam Johnson was largely a spectator.

Martin Woods returned to the starting eleven following injury with Jamie Allen dropping to the bench.ย  This change allowed a return to the sweeper system Pete Wild has adopted for the majority of the season with Niall Maher dropping back from midfield.

The Shaymen dominated the first half showing plenty of attacking intent from the first whistle.ย  Jeff King surged into the box and went down under a challenge but was adjudged to have handled. On the other side of the pitch Jack Senior had a couple of opportunities slicing a shot wide and then bringing a good save out of Harry Isted in the Wealdstone goal. Isted continued to be in the action saving well from Jake Hyde at his near post.

Jeff Kingโ€™s low cross evaded the down strikers by a small margin and as Town continued to attack Tahvon Campbell shot wide after a near turn in the penalty area.ย  It was completely against the run of play that Wealdstone took a 30th minute lead.ย  A long ball forward was taken by Dennon Lewis on the right side of the penalty area.ย  He beat Niall Maherโ€™s challenge and finished neatly from 12 yards out.

On 40 minutes Jake Hyde headed home Kingโ€™s free kick but an Assistantโ€™s flag for offside curtailed the celebrations.ย  Another low King cross almost found Campbell and the Cheltenham loanee forced Isted into another save as the half ended with the hosts enjoying a single goal advantage.

The 2nd half continued in the same vein.ย  Hyde headed a Jack Senior cross wide and Martin Woods 22 yard free kick was saved by Isted.ย  Wealdstoneโ€™s only threat was a low cross that evaded Danny Parish.

The deserved equaliser came in the 57th minute.ย  A free kick in the right was taken quickly by Neill Byrne who found Jeff King on the right and his pinpoint cross was headed home by Hyde for his 5th goal in a FC Halifax Town shirt.

Billy Chadwick, back for a 2nd loan spell from Hull City, replaced Tahvon Campbell and was immediately in the action winning the ball and finding Senior whose shot was off target.ย  Moments later a shot from the influential Kieran Green cannoned off the bar as Town went for the winner.ย  Chadwick shot over but moments later he found Jack Earing in the left hand side in space and his unstoppable shot nestled in the far corner of the Wealdstone net and Town finally had a deserved lead.

Ashley Charles saw his free kick curl off target in a rare foray forward from the hosts who had penalty appeals waved away in stoppage time when Charlie Hughes went down in the penalty area.ย  There was a late red card for debutant Dan Bowry for a poor challenge on Jack Earing as The Shaymen saw out the final moments of the game for a thoroughly deserved 3 points.
