FC Halifax Town suffered a 3-2 defeat to Maidenhead United on Saturday, midfielder Jack Earing spoke to Shaymen TV after the match.

Earing began the interview by giving his thoughts on the game, saying; “In all honesty, it was a day to forget. Our game plan just didn’t go to work, and I just don’t think we were at it today.”

He added on what was said at half time when the Shaymen were 2-1 down; “We just said the tempo has got to be higher, and our passing was sloppy all over the pitch. We weren’t getting forward nor creating chances or just half chances, so we just wanted to raise the intensity.”

Halifax did pull the game back to 2-2 in the second half, and Jack spoke upon whether the lads thought they could find a winner.

“Everyone in this team has character, and I believe in all the lads – we all have the quality to create something in the final third and get a goal. However, at the minute it’s just not coming off for us.”

The Shaymen are next in action on Tuesday night as they host Hartlepool United, and Earing commented on the must-have football bounce back ability; “We definitely need to bounce back on Tuesday – it’s a quick turnaround which is good for us as we won’t dwell on this defeat. We’ll be back in on Monday and look to put things right.”
