A magical 8-minute spell in the 2nd half saw FC Halifax Town overcome a half time deficit to run out 3 – 1 winners away at Aldershot Town tonight.ย  And it sees the club record back to back away wins in 4 days and 3 wins in a week with a tally of a mere 13 goals scored.

Town boss Pete Wild kept faith with the same starting line-up that beat Weymouth at the weekend.ย  It was the home side that pressed early with James Rowe shooting wide and a Giles Phillips header straight at Sam Johnson.ย  Harry Panayiotou found space on the right hand side of the penalty area but dragged his shot well wide. Town replied with Kieran Green & Jeff King linking up to work a shooting opportunity for Jake Hyde which was blocked. Mo Bettamerโ€™s shot was parried by Johnson with Toby Edser unable to convert the rebound.

Aldershot took the lead on 33 minutes.ย  A free kick on the left was played into an unmarked Panayiotou, Martin Woods made a challenge which the Referee Aaron Jackson deemed a foul and despite Town protests Woods received a yellow card and Aldershot had a penalty.ย  Bettamer sent Johnson the wrong way and the hosts had the lead which they held at the half time interval with The Shaymen second best in the opening period.

Town signalled their intentions early in the 2nd period with Jake Hyde hitting the bar albeit from an offside position.ย  Hyde then linked up with Nyal Bell and Danny Williams whose cross was cleared by Phillips.ย  Jack Earing replaced Green just before the hour mark and shortly afterwards a free kick on the left side brought the equaliser.ย  Luke Summerfieldโ€™s ball in was met by the head of Jake Hyde for his 3rd goal in 3 games.ย  Niall Maher flicked on a corner at the near post with Bell off target from an overhead kick but the Stockport loanee was soon back in the action when he received the ball from Summerfield 25 yards out.ย  Back to goal he turned his man and unleashed a rocket into the top corner to give Town the lead.

The goals carried on flowing with Earing latching onto a through ball on the right hand edge of the Aldershot area.ย  He went down under a challenge and a penalty was awarded courtesy of the Assistant Referee and Hyde duly converted from the spot. ย 3 goals in 8 minutes had changed the complexion of the game and was a fitting reward for a Town side who continued to press forward.

The hosts tried to reply with George Fowler shooting wide and Toby Eder hitting the bar from 20 yards out.ย  Ex Shayman Mike Fondop-Talom headed wide at the near post.

Town continued to look dangerous on the counterattack and saw the game out to record another away success and have now got 3 wins in a row.

Saturdayโ€™s home game against Eastleigh has been postponed so the next fixture is another away game at Solihull Moors next Tuesday night, 7.45pm kick-off.
