FC Halifax Town were reduced to nine men last night and were defeated 1-0 with a late goal against high flying Wealdstone last night.

Manager Pete Wild was sent off just before the break along with the Wealdstone manager. Jeff King was shown a straight red within the first five minutes. Danny Williams picked up two yellow cards just before the end before Wealdstone scored the only goal of the game.

Despite this, Town boss Pete Wild was pleased with his side’s performance.

He told Shaymen TV, ” We deserved somthing out of the game, we were well organised. Some of the decisions were out of our control which unfortunatley dictated the match”.

The game had been moved due to Covid 19 in the Town squad and the game was moved last night, Wild confirmed the reasons why the game was played last night,

“The rule is you have to 14 fit players to play the game which we did have and in the build up to the game we had more than that. We now have other players which are still self isolating.”

Last night, saw Matty Stenson made his competitive debut however he went off injured in the frst half

Wild said, “No one was around him, he put his foot into the grass and he twisted his knee. Everything was transpiring against us, they are not excuses, just the facts of the game.

Town will travel to Solihull Moors on Saturday in our next Vanarama National League game.
