Jeff King scored his first goal in a FC Halifax Town shirt as they drew 1-1 at The Shay on Tuesday Night.

Yeovil dominated the early minutes with plenty of possession however Jamie Allen’s turn of pace helped assist Jeff’s goal as he rifled it into the top corner at the back post. He mentioned the delight of scoring his first goal for Town; “Amazing. The amount of times ive hit the woodwork and it has been annoying really. We have a laugh and a joke in the changing room saying it will happen one day. Hence why I did the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration as the lads said if you do score you have to do something special.

The Shaymen managed to get hold of the game after the goal and had many chances just before half time but fail to convert; “Thought we had the better chances in the game. They kept the ball a lot more than us but in terms of chances I think we could have had the game done by half time. We had three great chances even after my goal. They are going to be up there towards the end of the season so its not a bad point, but we feel we need to win all our games at The Shay.”

The game saw 6 yellow cards with the game becoming scrappy throughout Jeff compared it to a ‘Basketball game’ as it was so end to end;” We were pressing them a lot and when we had possession they pressed us a lot. It was very end to end and a lot of tired legs. However, the longer the game went on the better we looked.”

The wing back was positive after the draw even though he thought the Shaymen should of got the three points; “It’s only a point but let’s hope it’s a point that would help us later on in the season.”

FCHT take a trip down south to Woking on Saturday and he mentioned how the team had played in the past against them; “I feel like every game we have played them we’ve had spells in the game where if we took our chances we could of won the game and you could say the same at Stockport. One day we are going to turn up and batter a team when everything clicks.”
