FC HALIFAX TOWN SUFFERED A NARROW 2-1 LOSS AWAY AT STOCKPORT COUNTY LAST NIGHT, GOALKEEPER SAM JOHNSON GAVE HIS POST-MATCH THOUGHTS TO SHAYMEN TV.

Johnson began the interview by assessing his feelings on the result, saying; โ€œIโ€™m gutted to be honest; I thought all the lads put in a good shift today. With the styles of the game, we were the better team and we deserved at least a point, but at the end it was just a good strike and then no points.โ€

The game was level at 1-1 at the break, and the 6โ€™7 keeper expressed what the talking points were at the break; โ€œWe thought we couldโ€™ve done more to be honest, we had good possession, but we couldnโ€™t take the half chances we got. I thought we did well and thought we were going to win this game.โ€

Johnson then added on whether the game was an early promotion six-pointer; โ€œI think all games are big games and we thought if we could come here and get a point or all three then it is a good sign on where we are at, but I thought we matched them today and it left us in good stem.โ€

As for the game itself, Johnson made several fantastic saves when the score was 1-1, it looked as if these saves would fire the other players up to go to the other end and score goal. Sam reflected on this by saying; โ€œI think it was the momentum, I made some decent saves and I thought thatโ€™s it we could go and nick one here now, but it wasnโ€™t to be โ€“ goalkeeping is fine margins and I got half an inch on that one.โ€

Townโ€™s number one ended the interview by looking ahead to Saturdayโ€™s trip to Boreham Wood: โ€œItโ€™s redemption or whatever you want to call it, but we are going there with a positive mind, we can take positives from this game and hopefully get three points.โ€
