FC Halifax Town manager says it is a “point gained” away down at Barnet. The Shaymen drew 1-1 against The Bees who now haven’t lost in six games. After the game Wild spoke to Shaymen TV

“I thought it was a fair result. I thought we were better in the first half and they were the better team in the second half. They put us under a lot of pressure in the second half we were resilient, maybe if we took our chances in the first half, we could have had a more comfortable lead. All in all, a fair result, we’ve got some tired bodies in there and it was a tough pitch to play on. A point gained they are on a good run and I’m just happy with the team performance today. We keep pushing on 29 games done and we are fighting in the mix which is really pleasing.

“I hope the fans appreciate the shift they put in today and I think you have seen that in the last week. You’ve seen that in the last week, you’ve seen a big reaction from the players in the last week.”

The festive period over and done with now, Wild reflects on how the four games have gone.

“It didn’t start great; I like to think we have addressed it I like to think we’ve tried to work in a different way. We are in and amongst it and we need to keep plugging away with points. For where we are in the hierarchy of this league, I think we’re punching well above our weight, competing every game we’re in every game and I think that we’re more than worthy of our position.”

Charlie Cooper and Jack Redshaw signing deals that will keep them to the end of the season

“I’m really pleased with it. I’ve been working all week on both deals. For Redshaw my thanks have got to go to the chairman for backing me on the deal. He’s somebody that I have known for a while, we’re not fighting in the same pot as other teams in the league for centre-forwards. Money is being talked about for centre-forwards that I’ve heard this week and we are not in the same pot as that. We’ve got to find those little gems and obviously me knowing Jack has helped that and I think we have a gem on our hands,

“With Cooper again covers a lot of ground today, does a lot of the horrible work that other central midfielders don’t want to do. He put in a lot of tackles today and I thought he was back to his best today.”

Next on the fixture list is Torquay and it is back to the normality of a full weeks training beforehand.

“We’ve played three games with one day to work on this formation. The lads deserve immense credit for what they have put in over those three games. We now have a full week to tweak it, move it around and manipulate it where it needs manipulating and then we make the long trip next week. We are all positive in there and we’re ready to go next week.”

Pete will not be sacrificing the trophy for concentration on the league.

“I want to win it. I want to win every game. We’ll go there and try win the game and that will be the message coming from me during the week.
