Doncaster Rovers: In Brief

We host Doncaster Rovers at the Shay so we are going to have a quick look at some facts about them.

They are known as Donny or Rovers for short and they were founded 140 years ago, in 1879.

The play at the relatively new Keepmoat Stadium which has a capacity of 15,231 and their current manager is former Northern Ireland international, Grant McCann. He has also managed Peterborough United.

They are preparing for another season in Sky Bet League One having narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship in the play-offs last season.

In terms of club honours, Donny won the Third Division in the 2003/04 season and the League One play-off final in 2008. They also lifted the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy (now Checkatrade Trophy) in 2007.
