FC Halifax Town drew 0-0 with Ebbsfleet United to continue their good run of form.
Shaymen TV caught up with Jamie Fullarton after the game to get his thoughts.
“Obviously, it’s a clean sheet and that maintains our record at home of goals conceded. We’re playing against a team that’s trying to vie for them play-off places and while in the first ten minutes we created great opportunities and one after that which we never took. They probably would have changed the course of the game. But obviously, you’ve always got to be happy when you have a clean sheet like we do, but disappointed not to take three points.”
The Shaymen did start fast with Rodney not finding the back of the net with a great chance.
“I think the two chances were very good chances. I think those positions we’d be looking to do better and whilst we caught them cold, maybe we were caught a little cold with such a fast start. But we were playing against a team that has invested well over the last two or three seasons, they’ve pushed up and are touching the playoffs and we’ve competed well. The game maybe did merit the draw with Sam (Johnson) making one very good save when he was called upon.
6 clean sheets at home in a row for Fullarton and his side with the manager being happy with how his team defended again.
“We defend as a team. I think that is 9 goals in 20 home games we’ve conceded in the league which is an incredible record and it’s a foundation we’re looking to build upon. Now we’re looking to score the goals when we create the chances to convert the draws into wins.”
Manny Duku and Devante Rodney have been at the club for a month now with the two strikers impressing at The Shay, we got Fullarton’s thoughts on their contribution.
“Everyone can see what I see. Not only do they contribute with the goals that they’ve scored but also, they’re a threat and contribute in other ways both in possession and out of possession. I think they fit in well with how we play, and they’ve had a massive contribution.”
Niall Maher and Michael Duckworth left the field of play through injury in the second half. Fullarton gave an early update.
“It is far too early to say the extent, but when you’ve got to come off through a muscle injury, which they both are, it’s very unlikely they’ll be fit for this week, or next or the week after. But again, that’s speculation and we’ll have to wait and see.”
Maidenhead is the next game for FC Halifax Town on Saturday which Fullarton is looking forward too.
“The games are coming thick and fast, and while the focus has been Ebbsfleet, we’ll now be looking to Saturday to make sure we have a performance that gives us a chance of the three points.”
