FC Halifax Town went out of the West Riding Cup losing 4-1 to their lower league opponents Ossett United tonight

After a goalless first half in which both teams spurned a couple of good chances and with each keeper making a decent save Ossett came out of the blocks far quicker at the start of the second and were 2-0 up within 11 minutes of the restart thanks to a brace from centre forward Tom Greaves.

Adam Priestley struck a fine goal in the 64th minute with a crisp strike into the top corner after a defensive error gave the ball away cheaply on the edge of the area.

The Shaymen pulled one back when Jos Vietch headed home after a good run and cross from Jacob Hanson. However a fourth Ossett goal from Corey Gregory sealed victory and a deserved place in the final for the hosts.

Only Rowley, Hanson, Sellers. Staunton and Ferry were players used tonight that had been involved in first team squads for league games this season.

Att 608 and good luck to Ossett United in the final.
