FC Halifax Town were 2-1 winners over Harrogate Town, we caught up with Michael Duckworth following the game.

You’ve just beaten top four side Harrogate Town away from home, how good does that feel?

Yeah, it’s a good feeling, I thought they were a bit fortunate with the first goal few ricochets, but he took it well. Then obviously we had a good talk at half time and came out a completely different team.

What was said at half time because it was like a whole new players came out in that second half?

We just got into each other at half time, there was a few stern words said and obviously the boys reacted in the best possible way they can and did well to turn it around.

Did the team always plan to keep pushing for the winner, it came late on in the game and some would say that 1-1 away at Harrogate is a good result?

The position we’re in away from home you’d take a point all day especially against a team like this, who are used to playing on this pitch. We would’ve settled for a point and I think that would’ve been a good result for us but, I think we did deserve to win the match based on that second half performance.

For you personally back in the side today with a full 90 minutes under your belt, are you pleased with your performance today?

Yes, obviously it’s nice to get a win could’ve done with getting a clean sheet but it was a bit lucky. Yeah, it’s nice I’ve been training a while now so just had to be patient because Jacob has done well. Obviously want to make the managers decision hard now coming in and winning so we’ll see what happens.

Looking forward now what does the win give the team against a tough side away from home?

It’s massive for the lads the morale has shot up it gives us a massive boost especially when Christmas is a busy period, the games come thick and fast so to get off with a win is always good.

The return fixture back the Shay is on New Year’s Day do you think it’s a benefit playing them so quickly again?

It can be, obviously the confidence is there we grow in confidence so if we get another positive result at Gateshead it’ll be good. Then we’ve got these again at home just played them know what they’re about and obviously it’s a completely different game at our place playing on grass, so we know what to expect.
