Saturday’s opponents Havant & Waterlooville pulled off an emphatic 7-0 win over Maidenhead United. This was Havant’s first win since the start of September against a Maidenhead side who have now conceded 13 goals in their last two games. Tyler Cordner got the goal frenzy underway after 19 minutes with his first goal of the season. Maidenhead’s sorry evening wasn’t helped by goalkeeper Carl Pentney’s red card in the 36th minute, which forced defender Alan Massey to don the gloves due to Maidenhead having no substitute keeper. Their lead was doubled just before the half time break as Rory Williams got his name on the scoresheet. It was in the second half when Havant began to go goal crazy as Alfie Pavey and substitute Alfie Rutherford both grabbed braces before Alex Bradley rounded off the big win five minutes from time. Despite the win, Havant stay 22nd while Maidenhead also remain in 18th.
Salford City returned to the top of the table with a 1-3 win at Barnet. The Bees did take the lead against Graham Alexander’s men thanks to Wesley Fonguck just before half time.
However, they did not take their advantage into half time as Rory Gaffney struck in first half injury time to level proceedings. Salford rallied in the second half as they took the lead in the 47th minute through Tom Walker’s goal. The three points were clinched for The Ammies in the 64th minute courtesy of Mark Shelton’s strike. Salford lead the way on goal difference while Barnet stay in 12th place.
Leyton Orient were unable to remain top of the table as they drew 1-1 away to Eastleigh.
The hosts took the lead in the 35th minute thanks to a goal from Josh Hare, his third goal in four games for The Spitfires. However, The O’s equalised midway through the second half
through the National League’s joint top goal scorer Macauley Bonne who grabbed his twelfth of the season. Orient drop to third while Eastleigh stay 10th.
Wrexham were able to capitalise on Orient’s dropped points to move into second place in the table as they overcame Hartlepool United with a narrow 1-0 win. Luke Young scored the only game of the goal in the 20th minute. Wrexham’s night was made a lot easier as Hartlepool’s Andrew Davies was dismissed shortly before half time. Despite the defeat, Hartlepool remain in ninth in the table.
AFC Fylde left it late to gain their fourth home win in five games as they beat Gateshead 1-0. Danny Rowe struck in the fourth minute of second half added time to give Dave Challinor’s side all three points. Fylde move up to fifth while Gateshead stay seventh.
Harrogate Town ended their four-match winless run with a 4-2 victory over Barrow at Wetherby Road. The away side took the lead through John Rooney and held that lead until the 53rd minute. Harrogate had some luck in finding their equaliser as Kyle Jameson put through his own net. Simon Weaver’s side soon clicked into gear as quickfire goals from Jack Muldoon and Josh Falkeringham saw them race into a 3-1 lead. They put the game beyond doubt when Mark Beck scored in the 69th minute to make it 4-1. Barrow did pull one goal back through Tyler Smith but the hosts held on. Harrogate are now fourth while Barrow drop a place to 14th.
Braintree Town made it two wins on the bounce as they picked up a 2-4 victory away to Bromley. Virgil Gomis gave Braintree the lead in the sixth minute but were pegged back minutes later as Joe Quigley struck in the 18th minute. The visitors retook the lead 11 minutes later through Reece Grant’s goal. In the 48th minute Braintree got their third as Lyle Della Verde scored his second of the campaign. Bromley managed to halve the deficit 10 minutes later when Omar Bugiel scored his fifth of the season. However, Grant claimed his second goal of the game for Braintree to put the game to bed. Braintree stay 23rd in the table while Bromley drop to 17th.
Aldershot Town drew 1-1 with Boreham Wood. Aldershot took the lead in first half injury time through Adam McDonnell. The Shots held that lead right until second half injury time when super sub David Stephens struck in the 91st minute to hand Boreham Wood an away point. Aldershot jump to 15th while The Wood remain 11th.
Dover are still winless in seven home matches as they went down 0-2 to Dagenham & Redbridge. The Daggers struck twice in the first half through Tomi Adeloye and Harry Phipps which was enough for them to claim three points. Dover stay rooted to the bottom of the table in 24th while Dagenham move up one to 20th.
Ebbsfleet United and Maidstone United shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Stonebridge Road. It took until the second half for any goalmouth action as Ebbsfleet took the lead in the 57th minute thanks to Kenny Clark’s first of the season. They held their advantage for only 18 minutes as William de Havilland claimed his first goal of the campaign, which meant a share of the spoils in Kent. Ebbsfleet move up to 16th and Maidstone drop a place to 21st.
Sutton United and Chesterfield played out a 1-1 draw at Gander Green Lane. The home side scored first as Jonah Ayunga scored his second of the season in the 37th minute. They were denied the three points in the 89th minute as Jonathan Smith scored for the second successive game to make sure it was a point apiece.
