FC Halifax Town battled with in form Solihull Moors tonight and will head back north with a hard fought point.
Club Captain Matty Brown returned to the starting line up following suspension and injury replacing Joe Skarz who left the field with concussion on Saturday.
Solihull had won three of their last four home games and have 19 points from the last 24 on offer.
Hartlepool United were the last team to keep Solihull from scoring at home on the 8th September.
Both sides had chances, none bigger than a penalty to Moors after Matty Brown was adjudged to have fouled a Solihull forward but Danny Wright skied his penalty well over the bar.
Cameron King had Town’s best effort early in the game but his shot was narrowly wide of the target.
An indirect freekick was given in the Town box following a backpass, Johnson tipping over the shot for a home corner.
Edwards had an effort go over the bar before Solihull’s penalty which was a slice of good luck for Town with Wright’s spot kick going over.
Hylton went close with most in the ground celebrating Solihull’s lad but Johnson saved on the line to keep the score 0-0 in an impressive performance for the Town shot stopper.
In the second half, a corner into the Town box and Hylton shot was again off target and over Johnson’s bar.
Dayle Southwell was fouled in the box but opted to stay on his feet.No penalty was awarded and he was booked for his complaints to referee Josh Smith.
Matty Kosylo found Cameron King and from inside the box his shot was parried by goalkeeper Ryan Boot. Solihull were then able to clear the danger.
Southwell got into the box at the end of the game, his touch was too heavy and the ball went out for a goal kick which was the last effort for his either side.
The Shaymen will make the long trip to Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
