FC Halifax Town U19 played their first game in the FA Youth Cup last night against Garforth Town A.F.C, coming in to this game undefeated in the league, which Town were able to keep this run going beating Garforth 1-0.

The game started well for Town, looking the dominant side and having the most possession with a variety of good chances. However, these chances didn’t lead to goals in the first half. In the second half the U19s continued to have chances and it finally lead to a goal, a good corner from Trent Culter found Jay Benn’s head which flew at the goal keeper who could only push it out to the feet ofย ย Matthew Rowson who in a group of Garforth players was able to get a shot off which flew into the top of the net, 1-0 to Halifax.

Garforth then started to put the pressure on but it was to late and Towns defence were to strong. Another win for the U19’s pushes them into the next round of the FA Youth Cup.

Full Time: Garforth Town U19s 0-1 Halifax Town U19s
