FC Halifax Town host Dagenham & Redbridge in the Vanarama National League on Tuesday night.

The encounter at the MBi Shay Stadium will be Jamie Fullartonโ€™s first home game managing the Shaymen and he will be hoping he can make the best impression in front of the fans.

Here are 10 things to know about our opponents:

  1. The history of Dagenham & Redbridge began when Leytonstone, Ilford and Walthamstow Avenue came together to merge Redbridge Forest, to combat falling attendances. In 1992, Redbridge Forest then merged with Dagenham FC to create the club we know today.
  2. Current manager, John Still, is currently enjoying his third stint in the dugout for the side, having been their first gaffer between 1992 to 1994, spending 9 years there between 2004 to 2013 and has held his position since being reinstated in 2015.
  3. The Daggers have played at the Victoria Road stadium since their establishment, with the ground being home to the clubs that preceded them. It vastly outdates the team having been opened in 1917, first being used by workers from a nearby factory.
  4. The town of Dagenham, in which the team is based, sits within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, to the east of the capital. It happens to be the home of World Cup winning manager Alf Ramsey, who was born in there in 1920.
  5. The club spent the 2010/11 season playing in the SkyBet Football League One, having won the privilege by winning in the previous campaignโ€™s play off final against Rotherham United. However, they would be sent back down to League Two by a single point, finishing in 21st position.
  6. The Daggers currently hold the record for the biggest win in a Football League play off, smashing Morecambe 6-0 in May 2010. It beat a record which was held by Leicester City for 18 years, who beat Cambridge 5-0 in 1992.
  7. The FA Cup run to the 3rd Round in 2001 was the first of three consecutive years in which the club would progress to this stage of the famous competition, with a massive contribution coming from their former goalkeeper. 2-1 down to Basingstoke Town at the death of the 4th Qualifying Round, the shot stopper made his way up field for a corner and ended up equalising to send the tie to a replay, which Dagenham went on to win.
  8. It is also thought that Roberts is the only goalkeeper to be sent off in the FA Cup within the opposition box. The now 48-year-old picked up the perhaps undesired achievement after a foul on Southend Unitedโ€™s Peter Clarke in 2008.
  9. Former Dag & Red player Junior McDougald, whose goals helped the club clinch the Ryman League trophy despite being reduced to 9 men on the day, also enjoyed some time in television. The striker enjoyed a stint in the purple of Harchester United in Dream Team.
  10. Dag & Red currently have an international footballer within their ranks, with Andre Boucaud representing Trinidad and Tobago. The 33-year-old midfielder has made 47 appearances for The Soca Warriors since 2004, netting twice.
