Wrexham: Supporters Club

Good evening, and welcome to you all. On our most recent visit to Wrexham two seasons back, I and my group of friends were privileged to be included on the Wrexham fans’ “webcam” coverage of the game, which included the build up to the match in the town centre. The experience was striking in that it showed how involved and valuable a contribution can be made by supporters, albeit with more than a little effort by the fans concerned.

If it were needed, a short search of youtube reveals that we have FCHT supporters who regularly record and publish various events inspired by our local team. Many memories, including some of fans unfortunately no longer with us, are recorded for posterity on the modern celluloid equivalents. Personally, I love the resulting images and look forward to the future efforts of those concerned, Supporters Club members or not!

It’s nearly time for our next quiz night, which to be precise will be held on Thursday October 26th. Dave Crossley will again be quizmaster, and the venue once more is the Flying Dutchman in Boothtown. Under 18s are welcome to attend with one or more adults, although I believe the local schools half term is the following week. Thanks again go to John Chew for the use of his pub for this ever popular event.

Just a gentle reminder of a date for your diaries. The Supporters Club are main sponsors for the Sutton United match on Saturday 3rd March, and we are obviously hoping the number of members joining us will be similar to or an increase on last year’s offering. Why not come along to what is always an enjoyable and entertaining afternoon? More detail will follow in a week or two, as will particulars of our Trip to the Dogs.

See you soon,          Kit.
