FC Halifax Town made it two wins in two and back to back clean sheets, with a two nil victory against Wrexham.

The Shaymen took to the lead after just 16 minutes. A clearance was blocked from Sean Tuton and the ball rebounded and went in to the goal, giving the Wrexham keeper Rhys Taylor no chance.

The lead was doubled seven minutes before half time. Kingsley James smashed home, after Jordan Burrow smashed the ball against the bar and gave the Shaymen a comfortable two nil lead.

Late in the game Jamal Fyfield was sent from the field after he tackled Tuton just outside the box.

The visitors dominated possession in the early stages of the game and nearly went one up. Wes York attacked a dangerous ball in to the back post but Scott McManus cleared before the winger could slot home.

Despite Wrexhamโ€™s early pressure it was the Shaymen that took the lead, in somewhat fortunate circumstances. On the 16th minute Burrow blocked one clearance before Tuton blocked another, that rebounded off him and went in to the corner of the goal.

The Welsh side continued to have more of the ball and almost got an equaliser through Connor Jennings. A dangerous ball in to the box was met by Jennings and if it wasnโ€™t for a fantastic Sam Johnson save the scores would have been level.

The home side continued to be dangerous on the break and Tuton could of added two goals. He was first played through on goal but he was unable to get his away, after a great tackle from Fyfield. The second came soon after when he escaped two defenders but his shot went inches wide.

The second goal did come for Halifax after 38 minutes. Burrow had a strike from the edge of the box that rebounded off the bar and landed to James. Ten yards out James got the ball under control and smashed by the Wrexham keeper.

Five minutes in to the second half and the Visitors almost pulled one back. A free kick from Sean Newton, which was meant as a cross, missed everyone and almost went in to the corner of the goal.

The game opened up in the second half, and both sides had chances to score. Wrexham went close for a deflected Robert Evans strike. The ball landed to Evans on the edge of the box, whoโ€™s strike was blocked, and caused a good save from Johnson to keep the goal out. Moments after Connor Hughes then went close for Halifax. Breaking from a clearance Hughes got the ball 25 yards out and his strike rebounded off the post and away.

Wrexham continued in search of a route back in to the games and it nearly came through a Fyfield strike. The center half carried the ball from half way and with no one closing him down he had a strike on goal, that was well saved by Johnson.

That man Fyfield was involved in the last action of the game. Tuton took down a ball over the top and he was left one on one with the defender. Fyfield dived in and the referee adjudged the Wrexham man to have tackled with both feet in the air and sent him off.

That results now mean that the Shaymen are just two points off of safety and are unbeaten in seven.
