David Lynch spoke to ShaymenTV after the 4-2 away defeat to Tranmere Rovers and the midfielder believes that it just was not good enough.

โ€œI think the 10-15 minutes we just weren’t good enough, collectively you just need to look at yourself individually and hold your hands up.โ€ Lynch said.

Lynch said that the opposition against the team had immense quality and would punish Halifax if you give them time and space on the football.

โ€œThe gaffer sets us up and if you donโ€™t look after your runners then you will get punished against a team with this much qualityโ€ he said.

Matty Brownโ€™s head got Town back into the game early in the second half but, the team could not keep Tranmere out soon after when they scored on the kick off. Lynch spoke about the silly mistakes that were made.

โ€œSecond half, we gave it a good go, but we still give silly goals away and you canโ€™t afford to do that against forwards like these have got.โ€

โ€œI can only look at myself today and it took me 45 minutes to get anywhere near that today.โ€

The midfielder spoke about the type of football that was played was not mirroring the image of what the league is about and maybe stating that it should change to give the team a better chance in the games to come.

โ€œYou can’t be pretty about your football in this league, you need to be direct which is what they were today.โ€

โ€œThe likes of quality that we have, Kosy, and Batts who has just come in that will look after itself, but we just need to get back to basics.โ€ He added.

David Lynch spoke about him and the rest of the team needing to stand up and be counted for the mistakes that they have made and make sure that they donโ€™t perform the same ones again.

โ€œThe lads have held their hands up in there, you can’t just give them that much space.โ€

โ€œBrowny has scored a great goal, but we just couldn’t keep it up after we scored.โ€

The supporters that travelled to Merseyside to watch the Shaymen need treating better, Lynch said.

โ€œIt is the very least we owe to the fans. If you can’t put a shift in, then you might as well not put the shirt on.โ€

FC Halifax Town were arguably one of the better sides in the league at the start of the season, but recently it has been backs to the wall and Lynch said that they owe the manager Billy Heath.

โ€œIt has been a great start, but the manager hasn’t changed things, we just need to get back to doing things that we are good at.โ€

โ€œWe need to turn this around for the manager because we owe him and the fans that have travelled down today.โ€
