When FC Halifax Town head south to Plainmoor to face Torquay United, it will only be the sixth time the Shaymen have faced the Gulls since the club became FC Halifax Town in 2008.

The spoils were shared when the Gulls visited the MBi Shay Stadium in the reverse fixture, with the match ending 1-1. It was George Waring who got Townโ€™s goal on his debut in the game back in October.

Recent fixtures against Torquay United have not been fantastic for the Shaymen, as they are without a win in five consecutive matches. Prior to the other league game this season, the last time these two sides met was the 2015/16 campaign.

During that season, Torquay were victorious once and the other game remained goalless. It was quite the thriller in the home tie, but Town were defeated 3-2. Whereas, it ended 0-0 at Plainmoor in March 2016.

It makes for worse reading when you look at the fixtures between the sides in the season before that. The Shaymen were defeated away from home in December 2014 2-1 and when Torquay made the trip to the Shay Stadium, they completed the double over Halifax for that campaign, winning 2-0.

There have only been two meetings where Town have not found the net, however. The Shaymen will be looking to end their winless run against Torquay on Saturday April 14. Kick off is at 3pm at the MBi Shay Stadium.
