FC Halifax Town welcome stuggling Stalybridge Celtic to The MBi Shay Stadium as they look to make their way back to the top five.

The Shaymen will be looking to make it three games unbeaten after an impressive 2-2 draw last time out at second placed Salford City. When as Celtic will be aiming to build on their 3-2 victory against Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday night.

Current form:

Billy Heath’s men have picked up an impressive win and draw in their last two outings against AFC Telford and Salford City respectively. Salford were table toppers prior to the Tuesday night match and Telford had only conceded five goals before The Shaymen’s 2-1 success. Opponents Stalybridge picked up a valuable three points against Gainsborough Trinity last time out. Rob Gorski’s men had been in horrific form previous to that victory, they had been on a seven game losing streak, this stretching back to the opening day of the season when they scraped past Boston United 1-0.

Key-man:

26-year-old Andy Owens is the key-man within Rob Gorski’s side. Well-travelled Owens has been at over ten clubs in his career – Accrington Stanley, Rhyl and Southport to name a few. The scouse-born striker spent his youth career in his home town with Liverpool but later moved to Stoke City. The striker has scored three times this campaign (just under half of Celtic’s goals), the joint lowest scorers so far this season. Owens scored two penalties against Gainsborough Trinity last time out so expect him to be a threat inside the penalty box.

Last Meeting:

The last time these two sides came up against each other was on the final day of the 2012/13 Conference North season. A 1-0 victory for Stalybridge Celtic gave them a mid-table finish, with The Shaymen finishing in the play-offs. A coolly finished 1-on-1 courtesy of Mitchell Austin, after a pinpoint pass, gave Celtic the three points despite playing the majority of the game with 10 men after having Callum Warburton given his marching orders.
