FC Halifax Town make the trip to one of the early pace setters and fellow promotion contenders Salford City.

The Shaymen will be looking make it two wins in four days after the victory away at AFC Telford on Saturday, when as hosts Salford will be hoping to keep up their good early start at the top of the league.

Current form:

Billy Heath’s side will be aiming to make up for the mini-slump and overcome one of the division’s free scorers and promotion contenders. Halifax have lost ground on the teams at the top after that slump, after consecutive defeats to AFC Fylde and Harrogate Town prior to the victory on Saturday. Heath’s men couldn’t be playing Salford at a worse time, they come into this match on top of the league and in fantastic form not losing a game as of yet. They are the second highest goal scorers in the division and have only conceded seven goals this campaign. Sounds like a daunting task for The Shaymen.

Key-man:

Salford have a number of impressive players within their ranks. Mike Phenix is leading the line well for the table toppers, having hit the back of the net six times already this campaign, just over a third of Salford’s goals this campaign – also joint third top goal scorer in the division. The former Southport striker will give Heath’s centre-backs a nightmare 90 minutes and they will have their work cut out on Tuesday night.

Last Meeting:

The last meeting between these two sides came over four years ago, albeit in a pre-season friendly with Salford in theEvo-Stik League Northern Premier – First Division and The Shaymen in the Conference North. Goals from Jamie Rainford, Jason St Juste and a brace from ever deadly striker Lee Gregory gave Town a 4-1 victory as headed in the 2012/13 season in impressive style.
