Giving his first interview to FC Halifax Town, the Shaymen’s latest signing Adam Morgan spoken of his delight about joining the club. The striker arrives at the Shay having scored 11 times in a short nine-game stint at National League North rivals Curzon Ashton, including a hat trick in the 4-3 FA Cup defeat to AFC Wimbledon.

“Straight after the Wimbledon match, I knew Halifax were interested and when they contacted me it sounded like the best option career wise. I really enjoyed my time at Curzon but I’m really happy to be here because I know it’s the best step for me. I’m sad to leave Curzon because it’s a great club but I’m a Halifax player now and that’s all that matters.”

“I know enough about the club (Halifax) to know this is a good move for me and I know enough about the manager to know he’ll get the best out of me.”

While the Christmas period is a busy period for many, Morgan says move has added to his Christmas schedule

“It took a while to go through, so it’s been a hectic few days, but it’s nice to finally get the move completed and have everything sorted before Christmas so I don’t have to worry about anything going into the New Year.”

The new man could make his debut if selected at Darlington on Boxing Day, and Morgan is relishing the opportunity to gel with his new teammates.

“I’ve got to go in and hit the ground running, I think, and show that I can work with the team straight away. I’ve got to stay professional and if it takes time to gel then it does, but I’m really looking forward to playing as part of this great squad. It’s a big game and if I get an opportunity I’m going to make the most of it.”

Morgan has also spoken about his keenness to make a big impression on the Halifax fans, and says the Shaymen faithful can expect a lot from him over the rest of the season.

“I always give 100% and I’m a hard-worker, but I’m also a goalscorer and that’s most important. I set up quite a few goals as well because I’m not a selfish player. I’m really looking forward to playing with Tom Denton up front because I’ve always been told I need to play off a big striker who wins every header, and he provides that. I think we’ll be great together and create enough goals. I’m really excited to be part of this Halifax team and hopefully help them towards promotion back to where they need to be.”
