After a successful start to their busy winter period, FC Halifax Town will travel to table topping Macclesfield for their boxing day trip this year.

Being top of the league, The Silkmen have plenty of men in fine form, none more so than top scorer, Scott Wilson.

With 10 goals in the league already, Wilson sits joint 3rd top scorer in the league, averaging a goal every 148 minutes, which is an impressive rate at any level.

Wilson started the month in smashing form firing an impressive hat-trick against Wrexham on the 9th of December but hasn’t scored since then.

The current Macclesfield striker was recruited by manager John Askey at the start of the season and wasted no time in opening his account bagging a lovely goal pre-season against Bury.

Before joining the side from Cheshire, Wilson was at Eastleigh, where he scored 6 goals in 12 games and previously Western Super-mare. He bagged 24 goals in 42 games for his first ever senior side. He started his career in the Bristol City youth team.

The on-form striker won the Vanarama National League player of the month for September and hasn’t looked back since winning the award.

Billy Heath’s men will face Macclesfield 3 times over the next two and a half weeks so The Shaymen will have to keep their wits about them to keep Wilson and co out, in the up and coming games.
