FC Halifax Town will meet Macclesfield for their first round tie in the Buildbase FA Trophy this Tuesday night at the MBi Shay Stadium.

On the back of that fantastic trip to Aldershot last week, the Shaymen will be looking to beat the table topping Silkmen after their massive win at home to Wrexham last week.

Obviously as the team at the top of the National league Macclesfield will be in good form travelling to Yorkshire this weekend.

After their very poor run of form, the side that beat 6th place Aldershot will be hoping once again they can stun one of the big boys in the league and pull off a shock victory.

Apart from last week’s win, FC Halifax Town’s form hasn’t been what they would’ve hoped, following their solid start to the season.

Town sit joint bottom of the form table alongside Leyton Orient, coincidentally they also won their previous game.

However, with the game at the MBi Shay Stadium on Tuesday night Halifax will hope their home form can hinder their opponents. At home, Halifax have only lost two of their last ten games, winning four and drawing the remaining four.

In comparison, John Askey and his squad have been on fine form on their travels this season. Winning 7 games away from home in their last 10 away from the Moss Rose stadium.

On paper Macclesfield definitely look like the side going into this one on form. But after their astounding performance last weekend, Halifax will be hoping they can put in another solid performance and continue through the FA Trophy this year.
