New FC Halifax Town signing Joel Logan has said it is an honour to join The Shaymen and looks forward to trying to help the club push for promotion to the Vanarama National League.
The winger has joined Billy Heath’s side on loan from Guiseley and has admitted that the manager played a huge part in his decision to join The Shaymen.
“I’ve heard from friends what a great manager he is and how he will help me develop. Halifax is a great club and it’s a big club. I’ve played a few times against Halifax and it’s always been a well ran club with a big stadium, it was really a no brainer and I was honoured when I got the call.”
Heath seems to already be making quite a strong impressive on the player himself. Logan has only been a part of one training session with the squad but already knows how the manager wants him to be playing in the side.
“He’s told me in training how he’d like me to play. He’s put his arm around me and encouraged me to go and play and be positive. The information that he gives is top drawer and easy to understand. It just flows through which is a perfect situation to be in.”
Halifax have a strong attack and are the third highest scorers in the division. Logan will be wanting to help the team score even more goals as the hunt for promotion heats up. Despite only being 22 the winger will add some football league experience from his time at Rochdale and the winger has said he will be looking to add goals, assists and hard work to the team.
“There will be a lot of hard work first and foremost, if you don’t put in hard work in you’re not going to get what you want. But I’m very attack minded, very positive going forward. I like to take a man on and maybe get a cross away. I’m quite skill full so I like to get up the pitch and try to contribute with assists and goals and push for that promotion.”
It is not just the manager that the former Wrexham man will be looking to see in action. Adam Morgan has shared the pitch with Logan back when they were both playing for Rochdale and the new signing already knows the striker’s talents.
Morgan has had a stellar season with both Halifax and his former club Curzon Ashton, scoring 19 goals in just 22 appearances. Logan has said that the striker is a gifted player and is looking forward to playing with him again.
“There are lads that I know here like Adam Morgan. Great player, he is very technically gifted. I’ve seen the quality of the players in training and the tempo was top drawer, the ball moved very well so I’m more than happy to be in this team.”
