The tournament, supported with funding from The National League Trust and FC Halifax Town, is open to primary schools, specifically boys and girls in the year 6 age group.Β  Schools competing include; Parkinson Lane, Elland, All Saints and Withenfields.

The winning team will progress to represent Halifax in one of four regional playoffs from which the four winners will then go onto compete the final played at Wembley Stadium prior to the Promotion FinalΒ on Sunday 14th May.

Steve Nichol, Head of Youth, Junior and Community Football Development said: β€œWe are able to run these events because of the funding we receive from the National League Trust and it fits well with how we want to progress our programmes in schools and the wider community.Β  For some this tournament, maybe their first introduction to football whilst others will be aspiring to make their debut at Wembley.Β  It would be wonderful if a Halifax school could represent the area in the national final.”
