Following Saturday’s narrow defeat to high-flying Sutton United, FC Halifax Town will make another lengthy trip away to Hartlepool United on Tuesday evening. The Shaymen will be once again looking to pick up their first three points since September.

Hartlepool’s most in-form player looks to be 22-year old Rhys Oates. Despite United not being able to find the net in their previous two league games, Oates has been a key player in their recent victories.

This campaign Oates has managed to get his name on the scoresheet on four occasions with his latest goal coming in a 0-2 away win against Torquay United. This was the last victory for Pools and Oates will look to have a similar impact in midweek.

Oates has been at the club since 2015 when he made a permanent transfer from Barnsley, a club in which he had been part of since 2013, although much of his time there was spent out on loan at various other clubs.

It is of huge credit to Oates’ talent and to see him featuring so prominently in Hartlepool’s side this season as he was loaned out by the County Durham to Gateshead last season, where he made just 6 appearances

The Town defence will need to be on their toes on Tuesday night if they are to nullify the attacker’s threat.
