Ahead of Gainsborough Trinity’s visit to the Shay on Tuesday evening, we spoke to Trinity fan Will Stanser for his views on the big game.

How has Gainsborough’s season been so far?
It’s been a disappointing campaign so far because with the players we have I didn’t expect us to be where we are in the table.

Who has been the stand out performer this season?
That’s a hard question to answer because we’ve had so many players this season coming and going, but the most consistent has been Jordan Thewlis. He’s been superb so far.

Last time out, Trinity won the fixture between the two sides 3-2. What can you remember about that game?
It was certainly one of the better performances we’ve had this season and we definitely deserved the win. We didn’t expect the win as you’d just come into the division and thought it would be a really tough game.

What are your expectations for the rest of the season?
It’s simple really – to stay in the division.

What do you expect from Tuesday’s game?
I expect a really tough game because Halifax will be wanting to win to keep their play off hopes alive and we definitely need a win to help avoid the drop, plus Halifax is a difficult place to come. But, if we play like we did last week we might get something out of the game. 3 points would be great, though!

What is your score prediction?
2-1 Trinity
