FC Halifax Town U19s extended their lead at the top of the table to 15 points after a 4-1 win over 2nd placed FC United of Manchester.

Marko Basic’s strike put the Shaymen into a 1-0 lead at the break before the scoreline was levelled due to a Jack Johnson own goal. Jack Atkinson had initially pulled off a strong save but couldn’t stop the centre back knocking the ball into his own net.

However, Jacob Heatley was on hand to put Halifax into the lead for the second time, before skipper Ross Barrows secured the win by scoring Halifax’s 3rd and 4th goals.

With only 8 points dropped by the youngsters this season, the team will be full of confidence heading into their next game against 10th placed Gateshead.
