As The Shaymen host FC United of Manchester on Tuesday, we take a look at one player who could cause Town problems at the Shay. This week, Tom Eckersley is under the spotlight.

The defender has been a stalwart in the FC United this season, making an appearance in 16 games this season. The former Bolton Wanderers man signed from AFC Fylde this year after loan spells at Witton Albion and Curzon Ashton, where he scored two goals.

From Bolton, the 24 year old headed to Accrington Stanley, making his League Two debut in a 1-0 defeat at Carlisle, before loans moves to Stockport County and Barrow.

Eckersley then signed for then National League side Tamworth, and scored two goals in pre-season against Stoke City, and their former Premier League rivals Aston Villa and made a big impression on Lambs fans.

He was then loaned to Rushall Olympic later that season, before the loan move to Fylde, which was eventually made permanent.

He can also play in midfield, and could pose problems for Tom Denton and co. with his height and strength.

Heโ€™s scored one goal for FC United this season, in a 6-0 win at Chadderton in the Manchester Premier Cup.ย
