FC United: Play Our Own Game

No team in the league will be wanting to come up against a team as in form as FC Halifax Town at the moment, but that is exactly the task that awaits FC United of Manchester on Tuesday night.

Shaymen attacker Richard Peniket took great pride from the comfortable 4-1 victory over Boston United and just saw it as another good day at the office.

โ€œThatโ€™s six wins on the bounce now and itโ€™s put us back in the play-off places. Weโ€™re getting on a good roll now and I thought we could even have had more so yeah it was a good day.โ€

The travelling team will come into this game in very stop start form and see themselves firmly mid table in the Vanarama National League North. Halifax must be favourites going into this clash but Peniket believes that the team needs to ignore that and focus solely on playing this game like any other.

โ€œMaybe people from the outside may look at the game and consider us favourites but weโ€™re not looking at it like that, weโ€™re looking at it like always. Weโ€™ve got to play our own game at just really get at them on Tuesday.โ€
Despite only being 13th, FC Unitedโ€™s form may be starting to pick up as they have not conceded in their last two games and picked up the win in both.

However, Peniket says that Halifax shouldnโ€™t think about that and back their own game instead of looking at their opponents.

โ€œWeโ€™ve just put four past Boston on Saturday. They are obviously well organised but Iโ€™d back us to be able to break them down and get the goals.โ€

The six wins in a row coming into the game on Tuesday makes Billy Heathโ€™s men look impossible to stop as they continue to fire up the league table. Three points could see them climb up to third place, and you can watch their next game against FC United of Manchester at the MBi Shay Stadium on Tuesday the 25thย of October.
