FC Halifax Town will go into their midweek clash against FC United on a run of six consecutive wins after their 4-1 win over Lincolnshire outfit Boston United on the weekend.
Braces from both Alex Simmons and Tom Denton were enough to deny the Pilgrims any points and Billyโs men have now only conceded twice in their last six games.
The manager and the squad will surely have their eyes set on extending their current run when they return to the Shay on Tuesday, having last played at home at the beginning of the month.
After the full time whistle, we spoke to Billy about his thoughts on the upcoming gameโฆ
โI think the balance in the team is better. Itโs better than what it was six weeks ago. Weโre more solid in the midfield area and more destructive in the midfield area. When you win games, confidence grows and weโre very confident at the moment.โ
Billy expects this confidence to carry on into Tuesday nightโs fixtureโฆ
โHopefully thereโs going to be a big crowd there. Weโre confident every game we go into now and I always say to the boys that we need to keep the run going.
With next weekendโs clash against Brackley Town around the corner as well as the Shaymenโs FA Cup First Round game against National Leagueโs Dagenham & Redbridge, the manager knows that his players should only be focused on the next game they playโฆ
โI know itโs the oldest clichรฉ but itโs the next game. You donโt focus on the game on Saturday, itโs literally just all about Tuesday and keeping the run going. โ
And with Halifax now back in the playoff places, Mr Heath hopes this good form can continue and the wins can keep on comingโฆ
โWeโre in a little groove at the minute and itโs just about getting the wins in the column. Weโve gone up to 4th, thatโs brilliant and weโre just trying to keep moving up the tableโ
FC Halifax Townโs next game is against FC United of Manchester on Tuesday night at 7:45pm at the MBi Shay Stadium.
