2. Gravesend & Northfleet FC was formed in April 1946, as a merger between two local clubs: Gravesend United FC and Northfleet United FC. Both had been playing football in the area since the 1890s

3. In November 2007, it was announced that the recently-renamed Ebbsfleet United would be taken over by the innovative internet venture “MyFootballClub.co.uk”, which gave thousands of paid members the chance to jointly own the club and vote on decisions

4. Stonebridge Road has been the home of the club since its formation in 1946, and previously it was the home of Northfleet United from 1905 until the merger with Gravesend

6. Former England and current Crystal Palace Manager Roy Hodgson is a former player of the club, having made 59 appearances between 1969-71

7. The club’s longest FA Cup run came back in the 1962-63 season, when over 12,000 saw Gravesend & Northfleet hold Sunderland to a 1-1 draw in the fourth-round proper at Stonebridge Road. They were beaten 5-2 in the replay

8. From formation until 1979, when it was a founding member of the Alliance Premier League, the club was a member of the Southern League. The club returned to the Southern League in 1982 via relegation, before switching to the Isthmian League in 1997

9. They were Isthmian League Premier Division Champions in 2002 and were promoted to the Conference as a result

10. Ebbsfleet United matched the Shaymen’s achievement last season by winning the Vanarama National League South Promotion Final, coming from behind to beat Chelmsford City 2-1 in front of 3,134 fans at Stonebridge Road
