Eastleigh: Supporters Club

Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. Only four weeks to Christmas now, and for football fans things are particularly difficult โ€“ we canโ€™t shop on Saturday afternoons, can we? Fortunately, the Club shop and Supporters Club Programme shop are open beneath the East Stand, supplying all the goodies you could ever dream of!

Well before Christmas, thereโ€™s entertainment. Tonightโ€™s the night, in fact. Yes, I refer to the annual Supporters Club trip to the Belle Vue dogs, which leaves the MBi Shay car park at 6pm. It is likely that spaces are still available, so if you would like to join the merry throng, just let us know. Entry (including race card and a drink) is only ยฃ2 through the Supporters Club, and it could be even more entertaining than usual tonight as the forecast is for snow. The dogs could be fitting their cross-ply paws even as we speak!

We have received a piece of unfortunate news this week concerning former Town favourite Lee Bracey. Ex-goalie Lee, who was at the Shay for two seasons from 1991 is suffering with throat cancer, for which he is currently undergoing treatment. At the request of a friend of his, we are providing him with a selection of match programmes from the relevant seasons, and Johnny Meynell has kindly agreed to supply contact numbers for players who were in the same teams as Lee. Iโ€™m quite sure that all Town fans, especially those who remember Lee playing will join me in wishing him all the best for the future.

Sorry for any confusion arising from the non-bucket collections at the Woking game on November 11th. Although the fact that we should stand down in favour of the British Legion on Remembrance Day was communicated, we forgot to mention that we would not be able to fulfil our usual duty of providing team sheets to fans, and none were therefore available. Weโ€™ll have to consider our options, as this is likely to happen whenever a charity collection takes place.

See you soon,ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Kit.
