FC Halifax Town defender Cliff Moyo has outlined that Town will have good momentum as they prepare to face Dagenham and Redbridge in the Emirates FA Cup first round replay at the MBi Shay Stadium tomorrow night.

Speaking after Town’s 2-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers, in which he was an unused sub, Moyo said that the positive performance will put the team in good confidence for the Daggers’ visit.

“Momentum is good, when you win a game you get the feel of it and you always want more so we will now come out on Tuesday with a bit more confidence and play a lot better”

Goals from Matty Kosylo and Richard Peniket meant that Town leapfrogged their opponents to take fourth place in the Vanarama National League North table and Moyo believes that the win was well deserved for the home side.

“I think it was a very good win to be fair because they are one of the top sides in the league like a lot of teams we have played. I would say they are the best team we have played so far obviously with AFC Fylde and teams like that”

“They have come here and for us to beat them 2-0, it is great. I thought the lads worked really hard and made it really difficult even though they tried to play a little bit so by making it difficult to play we have come out with the three points”

Whilst Town added another three points to their tally, it was a different story for Tuesday night’s opponents as Dagenham were on the wrong side of a 5-0 thrashing at home to Gateshead.

Despite this result, Moyo says that the FA Cup means anything can happen and Town will still be very prepared to take on a very strong Daggers side.

“Like I said, football is football. You could lose one game and win the other or lose another game so we cannot really take that on board because it is the FA Cup, it is a totally different ball game”

“We are just going to see it as it is on Tuesday and hopefully perform well to get through to the next round”

A win for Town will mean that the Shaymen will progress to the second round for the first time in their history where they will face an away trip to either Swindon Town or Eastleigh.

That aside, Moyo says that the team spirit is at an all-time high which is crucial when it comes to putting in good performances on the pitch.

“In terms of myself I have been training hard and the team have as well. The team spirit is fantastic in the dressing room; everyone is loving it in training as well and it is showing on the pitch with the games”

If you cannot make it to the game on Tuesday night, then there will be live match updates available on the Shaymen Wall along with audio commentary available on Shaymen Player HD.
