This Saturday FC Halifax Town will be travelling to the Tameside Stadium, Ashton-under-Line to face Curzon Ashton as we return to league action.

Coming off the back of their spectacular 2-1 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge in the Emirates FA Cup, where Town reached the 2nd round of the competition for the first time in the club’s history, Billy and his men will be hoping to cement their play-off spot coming into the Christmas period.

Town have regained momentum following their hiccup at home to Brackley Town at the end of October, picking up victories against Kidderminster Harriers, as well as the historical taking apart of Dagenham & Redbridge in midweek.

In-form winger Matty Kosylo will be chomping at the bit to feature from the start after two inspired cameos from the bench. Two goals in two games from the bench, including the emphatic winner against The ‘Daggers in midweek will certainly push him into contention.

Curzon Ashton have come into a bit of form themselves recently, scoring five goals in two games in league and cup fixtures. They took apart play-off hopefuls Gloucester City in an impressive 2-0 display away from home, following it up with a 3-1 victory over Midland Football League outfit Westfields FC to join FC Halifax in the 2nd Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Manager John Flanagan is now into his fifth season as The Nash’s gaffer and is now the most successful manager in the clubs 53-year history, but Heath will be going into the game full of confidence after a string of emphatic results, including the 8-1 drubbing of Ossett Town in the West Riding County Cup.

Currently sitting in 18th, Curzon Ashton will be going into the game at the Tameside hoping to widen the gap between them and the relegation spots as they’re only two spaces from Stalybridge Celtic and Altrincham in the bottom three.
