The Shaymen welcome visitors from over the Pennines for the second consecutive weekend as Chorley, sneaking into the play-offs aided by Darlington’s demise, travel to The MBi Shay for a one-off Promotion Final special.
On their play-off final opponents, Heath said: “Chorley play a certain way. Tough, strong and physical. They have players that know what it’s about at these levels. Tough and strong-willed. It will be another big game where we need to embrace it again.”
Chorley finished six points behind Town in the final standings, with Halifax coming out 2-0 winners at Victory Park on the final day of the season, adding to a 2-1 victory over former-Blackburn striker Matt Jansen’s side in January.
Following his sides strenuous victory over Salford, Heath said: “We’re just pleased to get through, now we have a home tie and it’s up to ourselves to finish the job off.”
Feeling the Shaymen shaded the semi-final, Heath has asked for more of the same from the fans who he described as “unbelievable” against Salford. He said: “We’re probably going to get lulls in the game again against Chorley, but the fans drove the boys on. We’re going to need that again.”
One final line from the boss: “Come and get us over the line.”
