FC Halifax Town Matty Brown has said that the squad must stick together after they suffered a devastating 1-0 home defeat to Barrow AFC this afternoon.

Jordan White’s second-half header gave Barrow all three points at the MBi Shay Stadium and stretched winless in the Vanarama National League to 11 matches.

Brown has insisted that the team will continue to be close knit together despite their recent disappointing spell.

“We will all stick together,” Brown told ShaymenTV post-match, “and we’ve got to stick together more than ever now to come through this period.

“It’s just hard to take but we just need to ride the storm and come out of it.”

The Halifax captain has the result was even more disappointing considering that Town dominated much of the game against the Cumbrian side.

“They didn’t really threaten our goal,” Brown continued. “But, it has gone in and it’s just hard to take really.

“We’ve done relatively well, we’ve created chances in the first-half. But, it’s just that bit of luck at the moment, things just aren’t going our way at the minute.

“You can’t fault any of the lads, we’re working hard. It’s just not happening for us at the moment and that sometimes happens in football.

“But, we just need to stay together the push through it.”
