Star front man Tom Denton is looking forward to the second home game in five days at the MBi Shay Stadium this Saturday, October 29, when FC Halifax Town take on Brackley Town (3pm). The Shaymen recorded a second comfortable win in the space of a few days when they followed up their 4-1 victory at Boston United by beating FC United of Manchester 3-1 on Tuesday night. A goal from Jordan Sinnott sent Town in 3-0 up at the break, after Denton himself had put them in control with a brace.
βItβs going really well now to be fair,β said Denton. βWeβve made it seven wins in a row and are in a good run of form now, and obviously, Iβm happy with another two goals for myself.β
Denton was largely delighted by the teamβs efforts on Tuesday, saying: βWe were unstoppable first half; 3-0 up at half time really could have been four or five.
βSecond half we probably did take our foot off the gas a little; there is probably a little bit of disappointment at not getting a clean sheet maybe but they played well second half. But we saw it out, took the three points and now look forward to Saturday.β
When asked if the Town team are setting any targets or objectives for the coming games or months, the striker was unequivocal in his response. He said: βNo, not at all; youβve just got to keep winning your games.
βThe leagueβs starting to take shape now, isnβt it? So, thatβs now seven wins in a row, weβre delighted to be up to third but weβll go again on Saturday against a good side in Brackley.
Β
βThey have strengthened this season and are up there but weβre confident if we play like we did in the first half on Tuesday, we should do well.β
