Ahead of Saturdayโ€™s visit to Boston United, we caught up with Liam King to discuss the game, the FA Cup draw, and a big week ahead for the Shaymenโ€ฆ

Captain Liam King is happy to be returning to league action after the FA Cup 4thย Qualifying Round, but believes the draw, which has pitched the Shaymen against Dagenham and Redbridge is favourable.

โ€œWeโ€™d have preferred a home draw, but regardless, weโ€™ll go there and try to get a result. Weโ€™d have liked a bigger team or a team around you, but we go as underdogs so letโ€™s see what we can do,โ€ said King.

Onto the Boston game, and King is confident Halifax can make it six wins in a row at the Jakemanโ€™s Stadium.
โ€œBoston are a really good side, but weโ€™re in really good form now so theyโ€™re going to fear us. Weโ€™re expecting a tough game, but we know we can win and weโ€™ll go there with the belief that we can win.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t really like to think too much about who I score against, but Iโ€™ve scored against Boston a few times! Iโ€™m always looking to score goals.โ€

With three games in a week, it will be a difficult seven days for Town, but King says the team is only taking it game by game.

โ€œYou go into every game wanting to win and at the minute weโ€™ve got something thatโ€™s working so weโ€™ll stick to that. At Halifax, we go into every game wanting to win it and thatโ€™s what weโ€™ll continue to do. Weโ€™ve got the momentum and he have to keep that going.โ€

And as far as the early race for promotion, the captain says the league this year is tougher than ever.
โ€œWith five wins on the bounce youโ€™d expect us to be higher up the table, but everyone has stepped It up this year โ€“ if you look AFC Fylde, Harrogate, and Salford โ€“ theyโ€™ve all invested so itโ€™s a difficult league, but weโ€™re Halifax Town and weโ€™ve got the belief we can do it.โ€
