Tom Denton was left scratching his head, trying to figure out how Town didn’t come away with maximum points on offer as Billy Heath’s FC Halifax Town came away with a point from the game.

“After we conceded the early goal, there was only really one team that looked to win this game today, they were time wasting and we ended up playing seven minutes of injury time at the end there.” Denton said. “If we would have been patient enough then we would have come back with the win I think. “he added.

After the long journey down to the capital, Town got their fourth point over the four away trips to London previously and Denton thought that they deserved more.

“We expected them to have the faster start especially after us having the long journey down, but we were the better side out there and probably should have had the win.” He said.

Adam Morgan started as a substitute in the draw at Meadow Park, and the forward came on to score and help Town bring a point back to West Yorkshire. Denton spoke highly of the former Liverpool man.

“yeah it’s good for Morgs to get that goal today.” he said. “He would have been disappointed not to have been starting in the game today but when you’re a sub, you want to come on and make an impact and that’s what he has done.” he added.

The change in formation was due to matching up with the opponents Borehamwood today, and Denton believes that it worked.

“Yeah, fine. We have played with that formation a few times I think to be fair, but today it was about matching up the opposition and it has worked for us today.”

The forward man was unfortunate to see red in the closing stages of the game which seen Tom Denton sent off by referee Mr Brook for an alleged elbow on Stephens.

“I’ll be honest, it is the first time that I have ever been sent off for an elbow, but I have gone up to head the ball and caught him.” He continued, “I think the ref has been a bit hasty with the red there. Maybe it should have been a yellow card but that would have been a second yellow anyway. It was not a red card, a bit harsh.”

105 FC Halifax Town supporters made the journey south for this one and Denton calls them ‘amazing’.

“Amazing support, especially all the way down to London to support us, and they made some noise and sang all game so credit to them.”

Next weekend sees, Town head back to the MBi Shay Stadium as Billy Heath’s side begin their FA Cup adventure, although Denton won’t be available for this one, he is confident of a run.

“Yeah it will be a great game, it will be nice to go on an FA Cup run.”  “Last season we went on one so I don’t see why not, Unfortunately I will be unavailable for that one but hopefully we can get the win at the Shay.” Denton added.
