This coming Saturday sees FC Halifax Town travel down to Hertfordshire to face Boreham Wood. This is the fourth away game in a row than the Shaymen have had to travel down to the South of England.

Tom Denton gave his thoughts on the upcoming tie and when asked whether having to travel large distances to away games hinders the team’s performance, Denton said:

β€œNo, I don’t think so, we have just go to go down there, prepare right and then hopefully can pick up a positive result on the road.

β€œObviously, it’s going to be tough again travelling to London. We’ll go there full of confidence and after a clean sheet tonight, we can hopefully build on that.”

Boreham Wood were victorious on Tuesday night, beating Eastleigh at home which subsequently meant that they are only one point and one place behind Town in the league. Denton gave his thoughts on the tightness of the top half of the National League currently and said:

β€œThere’s only been 14 games, so you would say it’s still only early days and it’s pretty congested up there. If we win we might go up five or six places or if we lost we could maybe go down five places so we look forward to Saturday.

β€œWe could be in the top five again come Saturday teatime, but we know it’s going to be a tough game down there, so we’ll go there and see what we can get.”

When Denton was asked whether he believed successive promotions for Halifax could be possible, he stated:

β€œObviously with that seventh spot available now, you’ve got to aim for that, but we are going to take each game as it comes and re-assess again in January/February time.”

Following Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw with Wrexham, Denton had to say:

β€œYeah, it’s a good point in the end. Wrexham are a good team, as they’ve been around sixth or seventh this season, so we’ll take the point and move on.”

FC Halifax Town travel to Meadow Park on Saturday October 7 and kick off is at 3pm.
